I have always had a love affair with Ireland. I associate most strongly with Newfoundland in Canada which has strong Irish roots and so, when I won tickets to Ireland courtesy of a contest at O'Byrnes Pub in Edmonton, Alberta in 2009, it was a no-brainer to ask my friend and Empire Avenue co-Founder Mike Mannion to go to Ireland for St. Patrick's Day in 2010. Mike was born in Ireland and the opportunity meant I had a chance to travel Ireland visiting locals. We went from Dublin to Waterford to Galway and all around county Galway and the west coast. Ireland is just purely magnificent.
