So for my first hike of the season I decided to head up and do an "easy" scramble in Kane's book (Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies): Indian Ridge. I am not a purist, I took the Jasper Tram up to Whistlers and started the hike there!
Unfortunately I chose a weekend where the snow was still on the ridge and to top it all off, the weather turned as I was up the mountain. About 700ft from the top I came across just too much snow, maybe if I'd been with someone I would have taken a chance but with rain, snow and hail coming down and soaked to the bone, I decided Indian Ridge had bested me this time. However, for my first solo attempt at a Rocky Mountain, it wasn't bad!
Plus it was just nice to get away from Edmonton and be up in the mountains again!
