Standing on top of nearby Castle Mountain in 2002 I exclaimed to my friend Jason Kennedy that I would climb up that other more majestic mountain. That mountain turned out to be Mt. Storm on Vermillion Pass. Coming back from BC on a trip to Kelowna in the spring 2003, I again fell in love with the idea, snapped off a couple of photos and proceeded to convince two friends from work, Matt Goldman and Alain Baxter to join me on another foolhardy expedition.
This one was just at the edges of my fitness abilities at the time. There is a photo of me somewhere looking like death at the end of the climb. But it was worth it, I learned even more and made me want to scramble up more mountains. I fear that Matt might have lost his enthusiasm for such scrambling. However, we did summit and it was worth it.
